Do I need experience to join?
No. Our classes are open to all levels—from complete beginners to advanced dancers. Everyone is welcome.
Do I need a partner?
Not at all. Many students come solo. We rotate partners in class so you can practice with different people. Couples who prefer to stay together are welcome too.
What styles do you teach?
We specialize in Salsa and Bachata, offering group classes, private lessons, and choreography opportunities.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Dance shoes are strongly recommended for safety and technique. Light sneakers are acceptable in Salsa 101 only.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 6 hours before class. All sales are final; no refunds or exchanges. Rescheduling may be offered at the company’s discretion.
What if I miss a class in an 8-week cycle?
You can make up a missed class by attending an open-level class during the same session.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes! Private lessons are perfect for wedding dances, fast-tracked learning, or polishing specific skills.
Can I book Acacia for events?
Absolutely. We provide performances, workshops, and entertainment for weddings, parties, and corporate events.
Is this a safe space?
Yes. Our studio is inclusive and respectful. Harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. Acacia reserves the right to remove anyone from class without refund if policies are violated.
Where are you located and what about parking?
Classes are held at Parkville Sounds in Hartford, CT. Parking is first-come, first-served in the lot, and street parking is available nearby. We recommend arriving early to allow time to park and get settled before class.
Classroom Etiquette
At Acacia Latin Dance Company, we want every student to feel supported, safe, and inspired to learn. To maintain a positive and professional environment, please follow these guidelines:
Respect for the Instructor & Class
-
Give your full attention while instruction is happening. Side conversations should be kept outside the classroom.
-
If you arrive late, quietly observe the pattern being taught before joining in. This helps keep the flow of class smooth.
-
Save questions for natural breaks or after songs so the class isn’t interrupted.
Phones & Devices
-
Phones should be silenced or on vibrate.
-
If you need to take a call, step outside the classroom.
Space & Awareness
-
Be mindful of your position during shines—make sure you can see the mirror without blocking others.
-
Practice the step or combination as taught before adding your own styling or variations. This ensures consistency and helps partners stay on the same page.
Partner Etiquette
-
Always treat partners with kindness and encouragement.
-
Do not criticize or correct unless your partner asks for help.
-
Greet each partner with a smile and thank them at the end of each rotation.
Food & Drinks
-
Only water is allowed in the classroom.
-
Please keep food and other beverages in the lobby.
Hygiene & Presentation
-
Dance is physical—please wear deodorant and bring a towel if needed.
-
Pack an extra shirt if you perspire heavily to keep the environment fresh and comfortable for everyone.
Respect for the Studio
-
Treat the space and equipment with care.
-
Any damage caused by negligence or misconduct will be the participant’s responsibility.

Classes are held at Parkville Sounds, which reserves the right to enforce their own studio policies at any time.
